Exercises were given to students as quick tasks to help them retain the material covered after lectures. These were helpful in our revision process as a visual note-taking approach was the best way to cement our understanding of architectural concepts.

Through these exercises, I was able to sharpen my knowledge and revise back on materials that I have learned from the lectures before and practice on my sketching.

Project 1
25% GROUP
In this first assignment, we were required to conduct an analysis of two case studies involving historical buildings in the context of Modern Historical Architecture for this project. This helped me in familiarising myself in generating a research analysis including the need for design layout and structural organisation.
TASK
Students are to select one of many historical buildings in Malaysia to conduct research and architectural analysis to then be submitted as an A4 digital booklet and an A1 augmented reality poster.

Reflection
From this assignment, I got to engage with a newer group of people and brainstorm ideas for our project together. Not to mention, I got to enhance my knowledge and vocabulary on architectural terms and architectural history all while enjoying the new information I was gaining and new friends.

Through this assignment, I got to communicate with my fellow groupmates effectively and discuss openly about certain disagreements anywhere.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Sharpening my collaboration skills I got to seamlessly work with my teammates and make sure that everyone in my group has done their part to make sure the end result is up to the requirements.
Project 2
25% INDIVIDUAL
In this second and final assignment, my research skills were put to good use from the last assignment to conduct research on various buildings from different eras in time. I chose the Stonehenge, Pyramids of Giza, St. Peter's Basilica, Chiswick House, and The Colosseum. I got to learn plenty of new information on said buildings from the architectural elements and the history behind them.
TASK
Students had to pick 5 different buildings each from different eras of time and to then make an architectural analysis on an A4 page manually.
Reflection
In this second and final assignment, I had the opportunity to unleash my creativity and embrace individual freedom in exploring various architecture sites and buildings. This task allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge while pushing the boundaries of conventional thinking. Beyond an academic assignment, it became a transformative experience, fostering a sense of ownership over my learning journey.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
I was able to effectively apply the knowledge I have gained to create precise drawings. I improved my capacity to communicate ideas graphically through this approach, making sure that the notions and realisations I received were accurately reflected in my drawings.
LIFELONG LEARNING
This assignment allowed me to effectively convey the knowledge I've acquired, showcasing skills that will undoubtedly prove valuable in the future. From honing my research abilities to refining my writing skills, this experience equipped me with tools that extend beyond the immediate task at hand.
DIGITAL LITERACY
This project was crucial in helping me improve my Canva skills and my ability to plan layouts carefully. It also gave me the confidence to use Pinterest to its fullest, allowing me to compile a library of ideas and pictures that exactly matched my artistic vision
Overall Reflection
Over the past 14 weeks, the module on architectural history and theory has been a captivating journey, broadening my understanding of the built environment. My understanding of architecture as a dynamic discipline influenced by societal changes has grown as a result of researching the development of theories and styles.

Not to mention, I also got to enhance my research and analytical skills while also igniting a lasting curiosity about the discourse surrounding architecture. In conclusion, the experience has been intellectually stimulating and has given me a strong basis for my future endeavours in architecture. I now have a stronger grasp of the significant impact that theory and history will continue to have on architectural practice in the future.
